The Challenge

Z Energy is a New Zealand owned company that purchased the Shell service station network in 2010. They inherited a 20 year old Point of Sale (POS) system that was expensive to maintain and lacked the functionality and flexibility that Z Energy required for planned customer marketing initiatives.

Z Energy needed a smart system integrator and installation service provider with the capability to assist in delivering a world class customer focused POS system.

ECL Group Solution

ECL Group worked with Z and their technology partners to deliver a leading POS platform to more than 200 retail sites nationwide.

We undertook staging, testing and installation of the system. The platform was designed to allow Z Energy to be more customer responsive and innovative, while achieving more efficient operating costs.

The same technology was implemented at 90 Z Energy truck stop sites and 20 airfields across New Zealand.

Seamless implementation was required with zero impact on trading activities. The focus of system design was to radically improve the customer experience at Z Energy sites.

Z Energy sites now have the ability to undertake a wide range of innovative consumer marketing activities.

They enjoy a leading edge technology platform that enables their business to grow and develop at a fast pace.

The customer experience is improved with fast service times and greater reliability.
